Over the years, we have taken more and more steps to make our hotel even more sustainable.
We do not use this as a marketing tool. For us, sustainability is a fundamental principle and a way of life.
Here are a few key points that may help put our approach into perspective:
Saving water since 2009
We have been systematically reducing our water consumption since 2009. To support this, we installed a whole-house water filtration system by Leogant, a company committed to natural and sustainable water treatment.
Growing our own vegetables since 2018
We grow our own vegetables on our own regenerative farm in Spreewald, which has been an important part of our approach since 2018.
Organic and local sourcing since 2011
We exclusively source products from organic suppliers and, whenever possible, purchase directly from farmers, hunters, and producers. We have been following this approach since 2011.
No major brands at the bar
We do not carry major branded products at our bar. Instead, we work exclusively with small and medium-sized producers, many of whom we order from directly.
Environmentally friendly cleaning products
All cleaning products used in our rooms, kitchen, and public areas are environmentally friendly.
Recycled materials and less paper
The toilet paper used throughout the hotel is made from recycled beverage cartons. Our printer and copier paper is exclusively recycled, and we increasingly store information digitally to minimize our paper consumption.
Upcycled cotton carpets
The cotton carpets in our Cosy Rooms are made from unused materials from the fashion industry.
Sustainable textiles and alternatives to plastic
In our restaurant, we use sustainably produced linen napkins and cushion covers. The straws we use in the restaurant and at the bar are made from corn starch.
Water-based paints
The paints we use for our rooms and public areas are water-based.
Natural fragrances
The scents we use throughout the hotel to create a pleasant indoor environment are made from pure essential oils.
Rerum Natura Sustainable Body Care
Body care products with carefully selected ingredients and certified organic quality according to the COSMOS Organic Standard by Ecocert. The products for hands, body and hair combine natural ingredients with a more conscious approach to everyday personal care.
Conscious purchasing
In general, we prioritize sustainable and small-scale companies when purchasing products for the hotel. We also consolidate our orders within one department wherever possible, helping us maintain this approach and avoid unnecessary deliveries.
Sustainability is also important to us when it comes to our own body and mind. Through our Lift Off Program and our yoga offerings, including Meditation, Kundalini Yoga classes, and more. We encourage a mindful approach to ourselves, to others, and to the world around us.
